Your donations help us to help!

Please share me:

We have had a lot of financial donations coming in during September, as we started our major fundraising campaign, SOS Rebuild –  to raise the much needed money to refurbish our dog kennels and the dogs play areas.  The project was launched with a sleep-over at the kennels, three brave volunteers stayed the night sleeping in kennels with our dogs, so we could truly appreciate what they go through every night they stay with us.

So far, as I write this, you kind-hearted APROP supporters have donated a whopping €7,665 !!!

… that is just such an amazing amount and we are all so grateful to know there are so many people out there who want to help us.  The scale of the project is substantial … we have a long way to go, but we are enthralled with the level of response so far. THANK YOU!

I also want to mention donations of another kind.  Not financial donations, but donations of time and love.  We get countless numbers of hours every day, donated to us by so many people.  Our volunteer network are involved in so many aspects of running the shelter.  Starting off for example with our SOS Rebuild project, a team of dedicated people giving up a lot of their time to make sure the much needed renovations actually happen, this is no small job and not for the faint-hearted given the scale of what needs to be accomplished.

The list really is endless, people getting involved in all aspects of caring for our animals, ordering supplies, creating fundraisers, contributing to our social media, fostering our cats and dogs, donating items to Salamander charity shop who so kindly donate the proceeds to us.  I will have missed out so many other activities, but you get the idea.  All of this is done with care and compassion by kind hearted people who want to help animals in need…. and we at APROP want to say THANK YOU it means the world to us.

I have been volunteering at APROP since April 2018. You will normally find me there on Tuesday mornings, helping to care for, clean and feed the dogs. In 2019 I adopted Barney, a Podenco from APROP. In fact I have taken a distinct liking to the Podencos and some call me the Pod-Mother! I am also part of the adoptions team the fundraising team and I help by fostering dogs too. Helping animals brings me much joy and happiness into my life.
