Tom’s Story :

Tom is an 8 year old German Shepherd cross, who came to us when his owner sadly died. From day one we knew he was a rather special boy. With perfect manners and a sweet nature he became friends with both volunteers and other residents alike.

We had a few enquiries for him and knew he would eventually find a new home. A month or so ago we had a message from a family that support Aprop financially, and also they have helped us at the shelter when they have been here on holiday. They were keen to offer Tom a home. However they were retiring from their work in the UK and returning home to Canada. They dare to hope if it was possible to take Tom with them.

Well our motto at Aprop is anything is possible ❤️.

Yesterday Tom left the shelter to go into foster with one of our best foster families. He will stay there until his new family come to join him in Spain and finalise their plans to fly with him to Canada. Happy days 🥰

Of course, a huge thank you to everyone that makes these dreams come true for our precious animals here at APROP. We could not do it without YOU.

I have been volunteering at APROP since April 2018. You will normally find me there on Tuesday mornings, helping to care for, clean and feed the dogs. In 2019 I adopted Barney, a Podenco from APROP. In fact I have taken a distinct liking to the Podencos and some call me the Pod-Mother! I am also part of the adoptions team the fundraising team and I help by fostering dogs too. Helping animals brings me much joy and happiness into my life.
